What is it and why are not all dogs suitable for it?

It is a general saying that the dog can contribute a lot to the happiness and wellbeing of people, and that is true, but just as not every person can be a carpenter or a professor, it is the same with a dog.

I am very proud and happy that meanwhile several dogs are working as servicedogs in different areas, because when there is a request for a servicedog it is per person different what and where the dog can help with.

Several variations where a servicedog can be used:

And I could go on like this. Because a dog has no prejudice it gives peace of mind to people and we can handle many things better than when there is pressure.

A dog is not by birth an assistance dog but can have the qualities to become one, as the picture shows the harness is too big and the dog will have to grow together with his boss in becoming one of the team as a duo.

Keep in mind that the trajectory to become a servicedog is long, it is a learning process and is not immediately at hand when the dog is born. The learning of this process gives the most chance of success if it is accompanied by people with experience and/or education.

In the meantime I have successfully completed my training to become a therapy dog / assistance dog trainer / instructor so that I can also help people with the training of their own dog / choosing the right dog in the litter.

We have been able to help several people find a suitable dog for their family, these people have told us their story without any obligations and also how much the dog has meant to their family.
